My Work
As a social anthropologist, all my work involves a critical inquiry into how people navigate their cultural, political, and emotional worlds. I am particularly interested in what formal education systems do to human beings, and how individuals make sense of who they ‘are’ in the world. As an example, I have chosen the professional title ‘artist anthropologist’ to acknowledge my own non-linear career path, and my discomfort/irreverence towards the 21st century pressure to sell one’s skills in an easily digestible manner.
